It Doesn’t Hurt to Be a Gentleman

A few weeks ago, I went to work evidently pissed off.

So you know how everyday is so hectic for me since I’m commuting to and fro Cavite and Makati. So just imagine always diving yourself into a sea of people to get on the bus because sometimes, you just don’t have a choice. It’s better to endure a few minutes (hours) of travel time instead of getting late, you know.

So I guess it was the same for this young lady that day.

I already saw her waiting for a bus to come along. She’s got a big bag pack, a long umbrella and a baby in her arms. I was kinda feeling worried for her but I know it’s not my business to meddle so when she got on the bus crowded with people, I didn’t make an effort to stop her. I at least hoped that some good man would give up their seat and offer it to her. To my horror, none of these men lifted a finger for the poor young lady.

MACRO--2

They stayed calmly put on their seat as if not seeing how dangerous was the situation for this lady! And it was an incredibly bumpy ride, too and OMG! I was really raging inside. I was shooting deathly glares at those “men” if only to make them feel so despicable inside.

UGH.

I know that by now, we should live in a world where everybody should be equals but at the end of the day, it still doesn’t hurt to be a gentleman. Especially when it is in this kind of situation. If I give up my seat for an elderly, a pregnant woman, a disabled person… surely this able men can, too. Right?

Ugh.

Sometimes, humanity sucks.

  1. I feel you BFF! Sometimes being a gentleman is not a normal thing anymore. This post is worthy enough to be spread out and be read by every single man on earth. At least, you had showed them na you’re more gentleman than the “gentleman”.
