New Year Is Not The Same.

In Life, Personal on January 2, 2019 by lexie-chan Tagged: , , ,

We expected it one way or the other. But it still felt so sudden and tragic.

My aunt, my mom’s older sister, passed away on New Year.

She found out she had stage 4 cancer a few months ago. She didn’t want to get beaten by the illness so she underwent chemotherapy. She was almost done with her treatment but her body just couldn’t handle its aggressiveness.

I saw pictures of her deteriorating. It was such a sad thing to see. I almost couldn’t recognize her! She looked like an empty shell. Weak, and unseeing.

My heart aches seeing those pictures and hearing sad news about her but it pains me more to know that I can’t even be physically be there to help or be a source of support. All of us are away! How cruel is that?

And then I talked to one of my cousin, apologized that we can’t be there and although her voice was bright, I know that she’s really suffering inside. It was tough for all of them…

So after the call, I was crying and texting my sister coz we were really so badly affected by it. Ugh. I hate this.

The only consolation is that at least, she’s in a better place…

But man… New Year was supposed to be our thing, a happy event for the Bisugos with the special BBQ, her mechado, our rowdiness and now… New Year would be an event that will only remind us of a sad parting.

We’ll miss you Tita!

    • Thank you so much :3 It was a trying time but we all know that at least now, she’s in a better place and we’ll always remember her and how bright her presence was in our lives instead of the sad. Thank you :3
