Review: The Improbable Theory of Ana and Zak

This is the first book I’ve read from author Brian Katcher so I have no expectations whatsoever. But I’m glad that his manner of writing is easy to read and understand so it wasn’t hard for me to finish it.

The first few chapters were slow and I don’t know where it’ll take off but my patience paid off coz as soon as Ana and Zak sneaked out to look for Clayton, it was a complete mayhem!

It was really fun to read how the two navigated the convention hall. As a person who likes to attend these type of conventions, it’s quite nice to read something so relatable. I enjoyed all the crazies you’ll find in these type of places. Everybody can be themselves without being judged and it’s something that was exemplified in the novel so I really appreciate that.

I know everything that happened in the convention was only within 24hrs but the love story between Ana and Zak doesn’t seem rushed or forced. They did go through a lot and I like how they trusted each other despite their differences at first.

I think the author did a great job in that aspect.

But my favorite part was at the end when Zak came into terms with his step dad as with Ana and her mom. I gotta admit, I shed some tears at that point. The confrontation was raw and emotional and ugh. I ached for Ana… it was very well executed.

I honestly didn’t think I’ll love this book as much as I did but that’s always a good thing :3
